Rio Tinto, the world\u2019s largest iron ore producer, and China Baowu Steel Group, the world\u2019s leading steelmaker, have entered a partnership to implement a series of initiatives aimed at decarbonising the steel value chain in China and Australia. As part of this collaboration, they will develop a pilot-scale electric melter at a Baowu-owned steel mill in China, optimise pelletisation technology for Australian ores, and further develop China Baowu\u2019s HyCROF technology that lowers CO\u2082 emissions in the blast furnace process. They will also explore low-carbon iron production opportunities in Western Australia. \u00a0<\/p>\n
