Sweden-based multinational technology group Hexagon AB has reportedly acquired HARD-LINE, a leading player in mine automation, teleoperation, remote control technology and mine product optimisation. The acquisition aims to enhance Hexagon’s life-of-mine technology stack, reducing the need for human involvement in dangerous mining conditions. HARD-LINE is renowned for its remote control solutions for heavy machinery, a factor Hexagon’s CEO, Paolo Guglielmini, deems critical in the shift towards fully automated mining. After the acquisition, HARD-LINE’s employees will join Hexagon’s mining division, contributing their remote operation expertise to Hexagon’s full-scale mining automation system.
