Green hydrogen is set to play an important role in Germany’s and the European Union’s climate and energy targets by 2030. However, it is reported that Germany will be unable to meet the quantities of green hydrogen required with local production. Therefore, the German Ambassador to Namibia told the Hydrogen Atlas Africa South Africa workshop that the Germany’s plan national hydrogen strategy, includes the development of training and logistics for green hydrogen and cooperation with developing and newly established countries in establishing a global hydrogen economy. Germany’s national hydrogen strategy will include a hydrogen partnership with Africa and Germany plans on importing green hydrogen from Africa.
