Aviva Investments have announced that they will ‘ditch stakes’ in up to 30 of the world’s largest oil, gas, mining and utilities companies if more is not done by these companies to tackle climate change. Aviva Investments are giving companies in these sectors up to three years to meet certain climate change expectations, failing which Aviva Investments have said that they will divest across both its equity and credit portfolio with the ultimate sanction being full divestment.
