勘探项目的收购或合资伙伴关系
对单一或多项勘探项目的审查或对不再有能力满足合资要求的合伙人之合资利益的收购，通常被认为仅涉及对地质勘探队（不包括采矿、冶金及环境团队）的单一专业审查。在这种情况下，主要聚焦方面是对将要收购的不动产的勘探潜力或“蓝天”的识别或。审查或许涉及尽职调查团队的实地调查。若为公众公司进行收购，则建议进行实地调查，因规管机构认为实地调查非常重要。须注意的是，尽职调查团队应在将要收购的矿床类型方面具有丰富的专业技能及勘探经验。该团队必须有能力迅速识别将要收购的资产的积极及消极方面。
在尽职调查团队介入前，公司应当让其法律顾问审阅所有合资协议，以确保能够成功收购该不动产，且该等收购将不会触发任何优先拒绝要的权或第三方权利。
香港上市矿业公司若计划收购或出售其矿产资产，则必须编制《合资格人士报告》，该报告的成本将会被计入尽职调查的审查成本。
