Ternium To Invest $3.2bn In Building A Steel Mill In Mexico

Latin American steel giant, Ternium S.A., confirmed at a press conference on 20 June the construction of a new steel mill in Pesquera, in the Mexican state of Nuevo León. The mill is expected to fulfil all the requirements of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. CEO Máximo Vedoya announced the project, which is the largest investment in the company’s history, with a $3.2 billion investment. Construction is set to commence in December, with operations launching in the first half of 2026. It is estimated that the investment will generate 1,800 direct and indirect jobs in the USMCA region and produce 2.6 million tons of cast steel.
