China’s import from Myanmar falls amid unrest

According to customs data, China’s imports of copper metal and tin ore from Myanmar fell more than 25% year-on-year in January and February of 2021 due to the unrest. Myanmar accounts for more than 95% of China’s imports of tin concentrate. According to the International Tin Association, only around 20% of the supply of tin ore has been affected since such supply was isolated from the unrest.
