Element 25 Secures a Deal to Supply 32,500 Tonnes of Manganese Sulphate Annually to GM

Australia-based resource company Element 25 (E25) has reportedly reached an agreement with automaker General Motors (GM) to supply battery-grade high-purity manganese sulphate. The deal will bolster GM’s supply chain for over a million electric vehicles (EVs) in North America. Starting from 2025, E25 will deliver up to 32,500 tonnes of manganese sulphate to GM annually for a period of seven years. As part of the deal, GM will grant an $85m loan to fund the construction of E25’s manganese sulphate plant. E25 is currently developing a $290m battery-grade manganese sulphate plant in Louisiana, US, which will process manganese concentrate from its Butcherbird mine in Western Australia.
